Computer Diagnostics
In a continuing effort to provide excellent customer service Hillside is pleased to
introduce computer diagnostics to our line of professional services. Hillside Heating &
A/C Inc is working with Enalyasys (VSP) Verification Service Provider to provide third
party verification of Commercial and Residential Heating & A/C equipment. What is a
VSP? As noted in Indoor Comfort News February 2007, VSP's provide state of the art
technology instrumentation and procedures to accurately determine the level of
performance of HVAC systems and provide corrections that optimize system
performance while meeting efficiency program requirements . What this means for
Hillside's customers is that we can use a laptop computer to fine tune your systems
refrigerant charge, airflow and ductwork to provide energy savings. Upon completion the
unit is SCE certified and pre and post-test information can be printed out on site.
What does the customer need to do? In order to perform the test we will need to test the
unit in and then clean the condenser coil. This can be performed at little expense to the
customer during their pre-season check out.
Testing Progression
(1) Hook up laptop, transmitters, temperature probes and pressure gauges and test
systems operation
(2) Clean condenser coil and adjust refrigerant charge by adding or recovering freon
(3) Make any further recommendations to adjust air flow
(4) Print out Third Party Quality Control Report listing Pre and Post test data
(5) Certify unit with Southern California Edison
Optional Testing:
Duct Testing
One of the most often overlooked components of an air conditioner is the ductwork. If
you are loosing half of your air through poorly sealed and old ductwork you are not
achieving the comfort that your system was designed for. One of the tests that Hillside
offers is duct blasting.
(1) Hook up laptop
(2) Hook up duct blaster
(3) Tape off all supply air grilles
(4) Pressurize duct system through the return air
(5) Print out report listing duct leakage
(6) Dependent upon results make recommendations to correct problem and bid as
necessary.
There is also currently an
early retirement incentive being offered for replacement of
units
10 years or older. Please contact a Hillside Representative for details.
